ACR 2015 The Crossroads of Radiology

Performance and Payments

May 21, 2015 10:00am ‐ May 21, 2015 12:00pm

Description

The purpose of this session is to explain the broad principles guiding academic incentive program and incentive plan development, and to share operational approaches to addressing and solving fiscal challenges. In academic departments, with their ever-shrinking margins, there have been demands for adaptation and creativity where supporting the tripartite mission of clinical productivity, teaching, and research are concerned. Additionally, this session will address the use of scorecards and dashboards to evaluate performance and then how they can be strategically used to re-engineer the radiology workflow to deliver best practices. The discussion will also encompass how these tools can be created and adapted to meet the Imaging 3.0 vision of appropriateness, safety, quality, efficiency and patient experience. It will also highlight the concepts of the imaging value chain.
