Learning Objectives
Upon completion of the session, participants will be able to:
- Describe and apply conceptual differences and significant strategic implications of foretelling the future via predicting (extrapolating change from historical trends) and forecasting (assessing the probabilities of possibilities).
- Identify and evaluate implications of four key external forces-scientific, technological, economic, and political-that that are redefining society's demands on health care in general and radiology in particular.
- Identify and evaluate the internal forces that are reshaping the medical marketplace and compelling radiologists to assume new and different roles in the delivery of medical care.
- Develop market-specific strategic alternatives for creatively reallocating financial resources and professional activity in response to external and internal forces
