The purpose of the series of lectures is to provide an overview of creating evidence-based imaging guidelines such as the ACR Appropriateness Criteria, as well as an examination of educational approaches and best practices for teaching appropriate imaging utilization. The R-SCAN program and ACR Select clinical decision support will be highlighted.

Note: The Quality and Safety Program is formatted in five parts to provide attendees interested in quality and safety a comprehensive program that can be used to train and nurture specific individuals to serve their institutions as the Radiology Quality Officer.

Learning Objectives
Upon completion of the session, participants will be able to:
  • Describe evidence-based radiology.
  • Discuss successful collaborations and improved radiology processes that improved imaging care.
  • Describe multiple tools for clinical decision support to encourage appropriate imaging.
