ACR2017VM41 - ACR-Derived Initiatives for Excellence in Radiology Quality and Safety (Radiology Quality Officer Series)*

The purpose of the series of lectures is to build on proven ACR initiatives that enhance quality within individual practices. The session discusses the Diagnostic Imaging Centers of Excellence (DICOE), RADPEER and Registries and describes specific examples of the implementation of these programs. Quality initiatives based on a specific patient safety program will also be presented.

Note: The Quality and Safety Program is formatted in five parts to provide attendees interested in quality and safety a comprehensive program that can be used to train and nurture specific individuals to serve their institutions as the Radiology Quality Officer.

Learning Objectives
Upon completion of the session, participants will be able to:
  • Identify requirements and benefits of becoming a Diagnostic Imaging Center of Excellence (DICOE).
  • Define ways to utilize ACR registries for quality improvement activities.
  • Debate the pros and cons of commonly used peer learning methods, including RADPEER.
  • Describe the most important processes in a patient safety program.
