ACR2017VM11 - Breast Imaging in Today's Environment: Including Economic Challenges*

This session will highlight current challenges for breast imaging in today's environment, including breast cancer screening guidelines, changes in billing and coding requirements, and value-based reimbursement, and discuss how radiologists can respond effectively to these challenges. Attendees will sharpen the tools they need to practice effectively while promoting the advancement of the breast imaging field and delivering the highest quality of patient care.

Learning Objectives

Upon completion of the session, participants will be able to:

  • Discuss current breast cancer screening guidelines and their impact on women's health.
  • Identify recent changes in breast imaging billing and coding requirements, including those for tomosynthesis.
  • Explain the impact that value-based reimbursement will have on breast imaging.
