Description
The purpose of this session is to debate the current and future state of the general radiologist. With increasing radiologist specialization, what types of practices will need a general radiologist? The session will highlight some of the following issues – how successful is recruiting for a general radiologist, how many graduating residents go directly into practice as general radiologists, and what is the role of teleradiology in regard to general radiologists. In addition the role of a general radiologist in the VA, academia, small/rural and medium sized urban practices will be discussed.

- Describe how general radiology workload is being managed in various practice scenarios.
- Discuss why there are changes occurring in the performance of general radiology.
- Identify opportunities for radiologists seeking to work as general radiologists.
