Description
Diagnostic radiology is the third-most male dominated medical subspecialty following orthopedics and surgery, according to a 2010 report by the Association of American Medical Colleges. Why don't more women choose radiology? One of the major reasons for the underrepresentation of women in our discipline is lack of women leaders at the higher level of organizations. Given an increasingly diverse society in our nation, conscious efforts should be made to address gender equity (and diversity) in the leadership. The purpose of the session is to empower women in radiology and radiation oncology to succeed in the academic, private, and corporate settings. This session emphasizes gender and leadership roles in clinical and basic radiology and radiation oncology.
