Description

The purpose of this session is to discuss the importance of understanding payment policy across the spectrum from volume to value driven care. This session will focus on collaboration including how economic policy translates to success at the hospital system level, using ACOs and risk based contracting as examples. It will also focus on the informatics tools which will be critical to the meaningful participation of radiologists in future payment models.

Learning Objectives
Upon completion of the session, participants will be able to:

  • Discuss where Accountable Care Organizations (ACOs) fall under the payment structure of MACRA.
  • Describe how ACOs are structured under Medicare but also within private payor contracts.
  • Apply informatics tools to the implementation of quality programs.
  • Describe the elements which may be included in a risk based contract.
