Description

This session will address topics related to patients with cirrhosis, the role of ultrasound in screening patients, and patient management using CT and MR. Specific discussions will focus on the clinical dilemma of patients with chronic liver disease from the perspective of a hepatologist, screening and the basics of cirrhosis, who should be screened and how often, whether there should be a specific protocol, what information the clinician needs to manage these patients, the role of emerging ultrasound techniques including elastography and contrast agents, and the role of CT, Dual Energy CT, MR, and use of novel contrast agents in patients with chronic liver disease.
