The purpose of the session is to focus on safety by describing high-risk scenarios in radiology practice and methods to minimize risk of adverse events. In addition to cultural development, timely updates in radiation, contrast, and MRI safety will be discussed.

Note: The Quality and Safety Program is formatted in five parts to provide attendees interested in Quality and Safety a comprehensive program that can be used to train and nurture specific individuals to serve their institutions as the Radiology Quality Officer.

Learning Objectives:

  1. Describe the methods in teaching quality and safety to radiology trainees.
  2. Define methods for optimizing radiation dose.
  3. Identify how to perform MRI in patients with pacemakers.
  4. Incorporate the described contrast safety measures into their practice.
