The purpose of this session is to provide an abridged version of the intensive practical course on Body and Pelvic MR offered at the ACR Education Center. It will focus on the most common, current, and practical indications for abdominal and pelvic MRI. The goal is to help a range of radiologists, from the general radiology practitioner to the moderately advanced MRI expert. A foundation will be provided to improve scan times, quality, and uniformity, with the objective of building meaningful use evidence-based criteria for decision support algorithms. Body MRI Part I will highlight body MRI methods and how to acquire a fully diagnostic exam including, the basic sequences, imaging large fields of view efficiently, common artefacts and solutions, and which contrast agent to use.
