The purpose of this session is to educate radiologists about business intelligence tools available for use, along with data mining strategies being utilized currently by leading experts in the field. It builds on clinical knowledge of radiologists and seeks to demonstrate the value and impact of radiology on healthcare in general. By measuring outcomes of quality and productivity, the course seeks to empower radiologists to lead transformational change initiatives at their health systems by focusing on quality and outcomes.

Learning Objectives:

  1. Recognize business intelligence tools to measure productivity and quality outcomes.
  2. Define data mining strategies to build their quality platform.
  3. Identify results from completed clinical trials and discuss the status of ongoing trials.
  4. Discuss the use of data mining to engage in population health management.
