Nuclear Medicine: Therapy

Description

The purpose of this course is to review and provide updates on the value of 223 Radium therapy for bone metastases and 131 Iodine therapy for hyperthyroidism and for thyroid cancer. The emphasis will be on clinical knowledge and practice and the benefits of using these types of therapy will be highlighted. Developed in conjunction with the Society of Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging.

Learning Objectives:

  1. Define the value and learn the steps for administering 223 Radium therapy for bone metastases
  2. Interpret and review the value of 131 Iodine therapy for hyperthyroidism
  3. Name and review the value and controversies of 131 Iodine therapy for thyroid cancer
