Description
The lecture will help radiologists break the orthodoxy of "doctor's doctor" and shift to the paradigm of "patient's doctor." It is important for radiologists to own their story. This means delivering the story to the end users - i.e. the patients. The radiologists can no longer rely on other physicians to capture their value. The four core pillars of "My Ideal Patient Experience" will be discussed. Specific stories will be shared to illustrate simple opportunities to improve the patient-radiologist relationship. The goals is that radiologists not just talk to their patients but instead narrate their value.
Learning Objectives:
- Define and explain the four pillars constituting a My Ideal Patient Experience.
- Apply principles discussed to implement opportunities to improve the patient-physician relationship in radiology.
- Identify new metrics to demonstrate the value of radiology to patients, payers and policy makers.
